PARIS
TRANE
A key figure in Parisian graffiti, Trane established himself in the early 1990s as one of the most active and respected graffiti artists in the capital. A member of the legendary UV TPK crew, he helped write a major chapter in the history of French graffiti, particularly on the Parisian railway and metro networks.
Emerging from the underground scene, Trane quickly established a strong presence on trains, subways, and in the streets. His name spread rapidly throughout the Île-de-France region thanks to his intense activity and remarkable consistency. Unlike some artists drawn to rapid institutional recognition, Trane remains deeply committed to the raw, nocturnal, and illegal nature of graffiti.
His distinctive style is recognizable by its effective and impactful lettering, often executed with speed and precision. Trane's throw-ups and pieces prioritize immediate visual impact: assertive volumes, strong contrasts, and masterful letter flow.
The UV TPK (Ultra Violent – The Psychopath Killers) crew became one of the most feared and respected groups in Europe, leaving a lasting mark on the Parisian railway scene. Trane contributed significantly to this reputation through his consistency and total commitment to the movement. Over the years, his name transcended the strict confines of graffiti to become an international benchmark. Although he maintains a low media profile, he embodies a generation of graffiti artists for whom graffiti is first and foremost a way of life, a demanding discipline, and a culture in its own right. Always faithful to the original spirit of the movement, Trane represents this radical line of European graffiti: independence, perseverance, and authenticity.
