BUCHAREST
MSER
Romanian artist MSER, based in Bucharest, is known for his extensive and international graffiti practice, primarily developed in urban spaces. Active for many years, he paints on walls, trains, subways, and infrastructure across Europe, the United States, and other parts of the world, establishing a strong and instantly recognizable presence.
His work is distinguished by a remarkable mastery of lettering, based on legible and structured forms, often derived from block lettering, in which graffiti, typographic, and calligraphic references are blended. The colors, applied with spray paint, are used with precision to create depth, rhythm, and visual tension.
MSER very rarely paints on canvas or paper, preferring the street as his primary space of expression. This rarity lends his gallery works an exceptional character, the result of slow and meticulous work, where every detail is carefully crafted. Through this approach, the artist manages to transpose the energy and power of urban graffiti into a more intimate setting, while retaining the intensity and radical nature of his visual language.
